Chapter I"if there's even a slightest possibility for all the thighs to go to hell, they for sure will!" The history of the band began at 31st of December 2006. That wery new years eve Baal and Father Jethro decided to form a Black Metal band - playing primitive BM. Later the band got its name, Black Devour, that was to be changed into Nihil Mortum - almost instantly. The band had only these two members until April 2007 when Father Jethro found Judas AC. He was to become the drummer. Later, at May Jethro found Amon. Baal, Jethro and Judas AC had a conversation with Amon and he was told to be informed later if he would take the place as the lead guitarist. And so he was. Baal gave him a phone call to tell that Nihil Mortum got a place to train in. So... Amon kind of found out that he got the place. The band had had a couple of trainging sessions when Jonna was asked to play flute in the band. She agreed with pleasure. Nihil Mortum had lots of rehearsals and a few songs were composed. At this moment we didn't play Primitive Black Metal anymore. Amon wasn't kind of informed about our genre and... we loved his compositions. A lot of progress was achieved, for some of us. It was found out that everybody wasn't as interested in training as others. That led the band in an internal conflict that was to be dismantled by firing Judas AC. Because of that Jonna left the band also. We played as a trio, with the help of a drum machine, for six months. Until Baal found Stefan's application on the internet. Baal contacted him and we took him on trial. A short time after Stefan was fired because he simply didn't appear to band's rehearsals and when he did he simply hadn't trained enough and that's why wasn't able to play the songs. While searching for a perfect drummer Nihil Mortum decided to record their first EP, Masterpiece of Unknown Art. Recordings were thought to be smooth and easy, taking only a couple of weekends. But as we all know, when it comes to working in studio, if there's even a small possibility for things to go to hell... they will, FOR SURE! So... the recordings were begun at May 2009 and got finished as we recieved the EP:s from the print at the end of November (at the same year though). Recordings and all the band activity had a situation when Father Jethro almost died in a car accident at autumn 2009. But being a lucky bastard, wrecking totally his friends Volvo that he had borrowed for a night, Father, the only man in that accident, received only a deep wound into his head breaking no bones at all! So, huge thanks to Volvo cars from Nihil Mortum (We would appreciate if you sponsored us new Volvos to protect our lives)! Because of Thextera joining the band as a drummer in February 2010, Nihil Mortum can finally close the first chapter of its history - "if there's even a slightest possibility for all the thighs to go to hell, they for sure will!" |
